Actual shipment weights will be determined based on the carrier’s formula for dimensional weight. If the dimensional weight exceeds the actual weight, the carrier’s calculation will apply. In case of discrepancies between the weight entered by the client and the carrier’s dimensional weight, the carrier’s figure will prevail. The client acknowledges that any difference will be billed accordingly, and their credit card may be charged for the difference once the carrier provides the relevant data.
Clients with existing active accounts with any of the listed carriers may not register for Novalink INT services unless explicitly permitted.

Novalink INT Online Shipping Declared Value Insurance for Carriage – Terms & Conditions
Definitions:
- Novalink INT: The facilitator of Declared Value Insurance between the Shipper and the Insurer.
- Insured: The Shipper with declared coverage for carriage insurance.
- Shipping Carrier: The company responsible for transporting the shipment.
- Total Declared Value: The total insured value of the shipment, including any coverage provided by the carrier.
Coverage: This insurance covers freight against risks of physical loss or damage due to external causes (subject to exclusions) during transit. Shipments must originate from the United States or Canada and be sent from the address specified in the certificate or as endorsed. Inbound shipments must be received at the designated address.
Coverage applies only to commercial trucking, air, and ocean freight companies—owned, leased, or rented vehicles are not covered.
Exclusions: Coverage does not include:
- Household goods and personal effects (furniture, appliances, clothing, linens) not involved in a recent sale or under a commercial invoice. Items sold via online marketplaces are considered commercial and not household goods.
- Losses due to dishonesty, theft from unattended vehicles, or similar circumstances in which the carrier’s employees are complicit.
- Accounts, bills, currency, cash, jewelry, precious stones, fine arts, evidence of debt, checks, money orders, COD payments, coins (except collectibles), securities, negotiable papers, tickets, deeds, notes, gift cards, manuscripts, documents, neon items, hazardous materials, LCD monitors, televisions, perishables, eggs, stones, ceramics, automobiles, motorcycles, live animals, plants, seeds, tobacco products, windows, and used household goods.
- Loss or damage caused by insufficient packing or labeling that describes or alludes to the contents.
- Losses arising from market fluctuations, delays, loss of use, decay, inherent vice, or consequential damages.
- Losses caused by war, civil unrest, terrorism, piracy, atomic or nuclear events, or related causes.
- Mechanical, electrical, or electronic failures unless external damage is evident.
- Certain countries are excluded, including Libya, Iran, Iraq, Cuba, North Korea, Yugoslavia, Angola, Myanmar, Afghanistan, Sudan, and others as specified.
High-Risk Cargo Exclusions & Deductions:
- Fragile items (e.g., glass, ceramics): deductible USD $500 per occurrence.
- Bagged commodities (e.g., minerals, nuts, seeds): deductible USD $250.
- Frozen foods: deductible USD $2,500.
Conditions: All shipments must comply with carrier regulations. Any deductible applies per package, and the insured is responsible for claiming any amounts from the carrier. Claim payments will be based on the invoice value or the actual cash value if no invoice exists, not exceeding the declared value.
Claims:
- Packaging and damaged goods must be preserved in their original condition for inspection.
- Concealed damages can be claimed within 15 days of delivery; after that, claims are barred.
- Claims must be reported immediately to the carrier and Novalink INT, with all supporting documentation (e.g., invoices, photos, shipping documents) provided within 60 days of shipment.
Legal & Dispute Resolution: This certificate is governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada. Disputes shall be brought exclusively in Ontario courts. The insured agrees to indemnify Novalink INT and the underwriters for any liabilities arising from misinterpretation or failure to follow coverage terms.
Other Provisions:
- Payment of premiums is required for coverage to remain valid.
- If any clause is deemed unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective.
- This document represents the entire agreement regarding insurance coverage.
Claims Procedure:
- Notify within 60 days.
- Provide necessary documents, including original bills, photos, and shipping records.
- Maintain original packaging and shipping documentation until the claim is resolved.
